Lobster Telephone in a the new century

$180.00

This piece was an exercise challenge that was directly inspired by lobster telephone sculptures made by Salvador Dali in the 1930s. They reference his preoccupation with sex and lean into the bizarre and hidden world of his orgies and art parties. My admiration of his work lessened quickly, the more I learned, especially when coupled with the reports of his scandalous profit through forgeries and inflated demand. I remain fascinated by his story, but even the shiny pieces now feel clouded and dark.
